QuestionsCategory: SpiritualMost Beloved Baba, today I want to ask some spiritual questions to you. I have asked them to other spiritually enlightened mahatmans but I would Also like to hear YOUR take on them. Firstly, Some Mahatmans say that mantras or stotras are so powerful that even when they are chanted mechanically they can bring powerful transformations (just like, even if someone without belief in the heat of fire, by touching it gets burned). Personally, I have noticed that mixing with good people also brings positive effects on my mind…whereas the opposite thing brings opposite results. Is this fact? or is it coincidence? Secondly, Saints and Yogis (like our own beloved Lokenath Baba) had immense supernatural powers; they could heal incurable diseases for the "faithful" and such things. I wonder how such wonders occurred? Even Higher physics and biology (genetics, in particular) today are agreeing to the fact that there is a mysterious power that drives each of us. The universe is not an accident, nor is the human body. It all has a purpose. I just wonder how the Great sages of yesterday, saw all these truths in their meditation. Do you really feel, that meditation is the most powerful tool for us? I mean, then Meditation and Japa alone can lead us to "evolution". Please let me know what you think Baba. Humbly and Lovingly at your feet, ananda, from Asansol.

Ananda,
Let me have your e-mail ID.

Yes, Mantras are like seeds having infinite power in the womb of it.If you just see a seed, you can’t imagine that there is not only one tree in it, but there is the whole forests in it!That is its potential, but it is such a tiny seed and the forest is yet to manifest.

Mantras are very similar, they are seed like, containing in it infinite potentials of manifesting the ultimate pure consciousness. Most of the greatest sages of India, have attained to that highest state of perfection, through chanting of mantras.
Mantra-Shakti manifests as you keep chanting and doing Japa. Of course, if you know the meaning and chant with devotion and love it would be easier for you to realize the power of the mantras and its infinite benedictions.
But if you do it mechanically, yes it should yield results but it will take a long long time.

next question:
Good people usually carry with them good vibrations, which you may call as positive vibrations. When ever you are in the company of positive people you are uplifted in your mind and obviously will feel happier and more positive. That is the reason we say always be in the holy company, for it would always help you to manifest your innate Holiness. Reverse is the case, when you are in the company of the negative people, or unholy people. You get infected with negative vibrations and unholy thoughts. As the true journey of life is from darkness to Light, you should always try to live in your own positive world of positive thoughts and actions and also try to be in the company of the positive people.

Supernatural Powers of the Yogis:

The Saints and the Enlightened Yogis through their deepest practice of meditation and samadhi reach to a point where they become one with the Divine or God. Quite naturally, supernatural powers, and mystic powers manifest through them for healing and redeeming the devotees of the Lord. These great Yogis do not manifest or show their powers as a sign of their ego, for they are beyond the ego, but the mystic powers manifests where needed by the Will of the Lord.

Science view on mystic powers:

Albert Einstein, the great scientist said it beautifully "Everything is determined by forces over which we have no control, and that we all dance to a mysterious tune intoned in the distance by an invisible piper".

For the material scientists, this is a mysterious power but for the scientists of life, the yogis, Rishis, and enlightened sages this is pure consciousness, to them no longer a mystery and revealed to them as the essence of the very existence, conceivable and inconceivable by human mind.

on accident and coincidence.

I always have said in my life, that there is no accident in this world and their is no coincidence too but you can have God-incidents.There is always a purpose behind every little happening in this world.
Sages seeing beyond time and space:

The great sages could see the future through meditative vision which transcended time and space and that is the reason they are called Trikaaldarshi, the knower of past present and future.

Yes, I do feel that meditation is the most powerful tool to unravel the mystery of the inner and the outer universe and its quantum Reality.
Is meditation and japa the only way?

No, meditation and Japa is not the only way to evolution. There is no only one way, there could be millions of ways, but of course, meditation and Japa are the most time-tested paths to the Divine realization.

Lots and lots of love and infinite blessings,
Baba
