Pronam, Blessed baba, after reading the topic ‘Ahingsha mahatma’ of the book lokenath Kathamrita by Dr. Prangopal Bhattacharya , I became totally vegetarian.(Actually from the childhood I respect Him(baba lokenath) very much and I also thought to leave non-veg before reading that book but that book accelerate my thinking). But my question is that modern science has proved the flora is also alive and they feel pain. So why killing animals is more sinful than killing plants and is it necessary to be a vegetarian when a man want to live a spiritual life . Again baba to get books in your website we have to pay but it is not possible for students like me(I have no debit card)Can you free books for us? Again baba can I get your email address, please , so that your son can disturb you through questions. I have many questions to you and need your suggestions. Please do not disappoint me. firstname.lastname@example.org
Life subsists on life. A bit of violence is inevitable for the life to continue. From inert stone to the living animals, life is manifest in different levels. Yes, it is true plants are also alive, but the level of manifestation of life is not to the level of the other animals.
It is good to be a vegetarian when you are treading the path of calmed state of mind. But it is not that those who are not vegetarian would not reach to that point. It depends on the nature of the individual, but if you are fine with veg foodstuffs, and at the same time have a deep urge for the Spirit, you may continue with that.
The books that the Mission distributes is against a price, it is not for free distribution, but of course at times complementary copies are given. My blessings and love to you. Baba
