You can’t be free of the thinking that is your mind, which now thinks by default. You want it or not.
In order to be thoughtless, you have practice meditation on your thoughts, pure awareness of your thoughts, without any judgement or expectation.
As long as you do it for a long time and allow the mind to be purged of its dross and restlessness and it will gradually become calmer.
