Rural & Urban Community Health And Awareness

Overview: Medical facilities for the economically vulnerable:

The Mission provides medical facilities in both the remote villages of Sundarbans as well as the urban areas of Kolkata since 1987. The medical service utilizes Homeopathy, which has minimal side effects and is effective for treating chronic and acute diseases, particularly for women and children living in underserved areas.

Urban Medical Programs:

One Mobile Clinic reaches slums and street corners, treating an average of 200+ patients daily. There are approximately 18 outdoor slum clinics within Kolkata, catering to thousands of economically deprived patients. Annually, these outreach medical programs provide free care to over 180,000 patients.

Patients Brought From Remote Villages To Kolkata For Treatment

In cases requiring specialized care, patients are brought from remote villages of the Sundarban to Kolkata. A notable example is Dipali, a girl from Gosaba, who struggled to walk and was losing her eyesight due to drying veins. After receiving treatment in Kolkata, she can now walk comfortably with custom-made medical shoes, and prolonged eye treatment has significantly improved her vision. The Mission, in collaboration with the Nihar Munshi Eye foundation, provides various free eye treatments and surgeries to the less privileged, helping many others like Dipali.
